HOW DOES FLOPPYFIN WORK?
FloppyFin has a built-in motion sensor that detects when your dog touches or nudges it. When activated, the internal motor makes the tail flop and wiggle, mimicking a real fish. When your dog stops interacting with it, FloppyFin goes back to sleep to conserve battery.
HOW DO I CHARGE IT?
FloppyFin is USB rechargeable. Unzip the belly pouch, remove the motor unit, and plug it into any USB port (laptop, wall adapter, or power bank) using the included cable. A full charge takes about 1 hour and provides up to 5 days of play, depending on how often your dog activates it.
IS IT LOUD?
No. The motor is designed to be fairly quiet so it won't startle your dog or disturb your household. You'll hear a soft whirring sound when the tail flops, but it's not disruptive. Most dogs aren't bothered by it at all.
IS IT DURABLE ENOUGH FOR MY DOG?
FloppyFin is built to handle enthusiastic play: chasing, pouncing, and batting around. The outer fabric is reinforced and the motor housing is protected inside a zippered pouch. That said, it's not designed for aggressive chewers who destroy toys. If your dog tends to shred and disembowel plush toys, supervise play sessions or consider whether this toy suits their play style.
CAN I WASH IT?
Yes. Remove the motor unit from the zippered belly pouch first, then hand wash or spot clean the outer fabric with mild soap and water. Allow it to dry completely before reinserting the motor. Do not submerge the motor unit or put the toy in the washing machine with the motor inside.
IS IT SAFE TO LEAVE MY DOG ALONE WITH IT?
FloppyFin is designed for independent play and can help ease separation anxiety when you're away. However, we recommend supervising initial play sessions until you're confident your dog plays appropriately (chasing and batting rather than chewing aggressively). Once you know how your dog interacts with it, most owners feel comfortable leaving it out during the day.
WHAT SIZE IS IT?
FloppyFin is approximately 28-30cm long, making it suitable for small to large dogs. It's big enough to be engaging for larger breeds but not overwhelming for smaller pups.
DOES IT WORK FOR PUPPIES?
Yes! Puppies love the movement and it's great for mental stimulation during their development. Just keep an eye on teething puppies who may want to chew rather than chase. The toy is safe, but like all plush toys, it can be damaged by determined chewers.
HOW LONG DOES THE BATTERY LAST?
On a full charge, FloppyFin lasts up to 5 days of typical use. Actual battery life depends on how often your dog activates it. The motion sensor is efficient and only runs the motor when triggered, so it won't drain while sitting idle.
WILL MY DOG ACTUALLY PLAY WITH IT?
The realistic flopping motion triggers your dog's natural prey drive. Most dogs are instantly curious and engaged. The unpredictable movement keeps them interested far longer than static toys. If your dog is initially hesitant, try activating it yourself a few times to show them it's fun, or place it near their favourite play area.
